Privacy policy

What we collect

When you sign in we receive your email address and display name from our identity provider (signin.ounie.com). When you build an exam we record which of your brains you selected, the subject/topic/level you entered, and the exam produced (its questions, options, answer key, point values, and a citation pointer to the brain page each question drew from). When a student submits through your take link, we record the name they entered, their answers, and the auto-graded score.

What we don't collect

We don't track you across the web. There are no third-party analytics scripts, no advertising pixels, no session replay. We don't sell, share, or resell anything you or your students generate. Every exam and attempt belongs to the account that made the exam.

Where data lives

Application data (exams, questions, answer keys, student attempts, credit ledger entries) is stored in a single Neon Postgres database hosted in the US. Your brain content itself stays on ounie.com — Exam Studio reads it at generation time through Ounie's API as you, and never keeps a copy of your sources. PDFs are generated on demand and never stored.

Student-take links

Each exam has an unguessable take link at exam.ounie.com/t/<token>. That page is marked noindex (search engines are asked not to list it). Students enter a name and take the exam in the browser; the answer key is never sent to the browser. You can close an exam to new attempts at any time, and deleting an exam removes its questions and all attempts immediately.

Payments

Payments happen on ounie.com, where Stripe processes credit purchases. This product never sees your card number; it only reads and debits your Ounie credit wallet. Stripe's privacy policy lives at stripe.com/privacy.

Your brain content

Exams are generated only from the brains you own and select, fetched through Ounie's API with your own session — Exam Studio can never see anyone else's brain, and never stores your sources. Deleting an exam removes it, its questions, and its attempts; your brain on ounie.com is untouched.

Deletion

To delete your account or download your data, open a privacy ticket. We respond within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30.
